27.-28.11.07: Heidelberger Innovationsforum

Das Heidelberger Innovationsforum startete 2005 als Experiment für eine neue Form der Kommunikation und Förderung der Wirtschaft und der Wissenschaft. Das Programm bietet Kurzvorträge zu Forschungsvorhaben und Geschäftsideen und daneben viel Raum für Small-Talk und Networking. Inzwischen ist eine regelmäßig gut besuchte Veranstaltung geworden.

Dieses Jahr hält Prof. Barth, IMACOS, den Dinner-Talk. Mancher erinnert sich vielleicht noch an seinen Vortrag bei uns. Nach vielen Jahren als Informatik-Professor in den Unis Penn State, Kaiserslautern, Stuttgart und Karlsruhe war er u.a. Präsident der GI und Direktor und Fellow des DFKI, Vorstand der Dresdner Bank und bei Alcatel SEL sowie Chef der Daimler-Benz Konzernforschung Informationstechnik.

Prof. Larry L. Constatine wird den Eröffnungsvortrag halten: Driving Innovation through Design-for-Use. Er ist seit 40 Jahren einer der Pioniere des Software Engineerings und Autor des Klassikers Structured Design und seitdem als Designer und Consultant in der Praxis tätig. Aber er ist nicht beim Structured Design stehengeblieben, sondern hat immer wieder neue Gedanken und Erfahrungen zum Software Design in pointierten und z.T. kontroversen Vorträgen, Artikeln und Büchern veröffentlicht. In den letzten Jahren konzentrierte er sich auf die Benutzbarkeit und schrieb u.a. das Buch Software for Use. Er ist auch ACM Distinguished Engineer, Prof. an der Universität Madeira, Mitglied der Industrial Designers Society of America und Direktor des Laboratory for Usage-centered Software Engineering.
